What is a Community Foundation?

The Boonville Community Foundation (“BCF”) was established in the Spring of 2012 for the betterment of our community. There are now more than 700 community foundations scattered throughout the USA and around the globe. We all model ourselves in some way after the first community foundation, which was founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1914.

The Boonville Community Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life within our community by inspiring charitable giving, fostering partnerships, and connecting donors to the causes they care about most.

Why A Community Foundation

Community Foundations are a popular choice for donors because of the services they provide to connect people who care with causes that matter, enabling donors to organize their philanthropy in one convenient place. We provide a mix of accounting and investment services, help connect you to local nonprofits, and free you to focus on making the biggest impact with your generosity.

Through a partnership with the Community Foundation of Central Missouri (“CFCM”), our local foundation has access to expert advice on the best ways to establish planned gifts, charitable remainder trusts, and other instruments of giving.

What We Do

Community foundations serve individuals, families, groups, businesses, trade associations, and more. Agency endowments, small family foundations, and larger foundations can all be a part of the Community Foundation while retaining influence over their funds and receiving expert guidance to help them flourish

A diverse, local board of business and community leaders from the Boonville area guides the Foundation.
